Restaurant Performance Index Trended Lower in July
As a result of somewhat softer same-store sales and customer traffic levels, the Restaurant Performance Index (RPI) posted a moderate decline in July. The RPI stood at 101.1 in July, down 0.6 percent from a level of 101.6 in June.
The Current Situation Index stood at 100.8 in July - down 1.2 percent from June and the first drop in three months. Despite the decline, the Current Situation Index remained above the 100 level in expansion territory.
