Crop Conditions Adjusted Slightly, Record High Corn and Soybean Yields Expected in Some States
In the latest Crop Progress report, corn conditions were adjusted to show 70 percent in good to excellent condition, down from 71 percent the week prior. 20 percent remains in fair condition, while a combined 10 percent is rated mostly poor to very poor.
In addition to crop conditions, the USDA also has released forecasts for the 2018 production year. The soybean crop is expected to be a record high this year, with production up 4 percent from 2017. Corn production is expected to decrease slightly.
